Lo, behold! It is the arrival of ‘BASANT’ the king of seasons. Marked with the puja of Goddess Saraswati , the goddess of knowledge, it brings joy, energy and a different type of enthusiasm as it is the end of long confining winter season. On this day we pay our tribute to Goddess Saraswati and wear yellow dress to commemorate its importance. The season and festival also celebrate the agricultural fields’ ripening with yellow mustard crop, which Hindus associate with Goddess Saraswati’s favourite color.
